Baton Rouge Appraisals Blog Pic Of The Week 02/09/2014 to 02/15/2014

For this week in Baton Rouge Real Estate ending February 15, 2014, the theme seemed to be Baton Rouge Foreclosures.  YES, I totally understand that nationally and locally, there’s been much less foreclosures taking place.  In fact, on February 3, 2014, DSNews.com reported Foreclosure Rate Down to 2.5% at Year-End.  However, within the Baton Rouge Housing Market, there’s still an ample supply of foreclosure and future REOs in subdivisions like Villa Del Rey, Park Forest, Monticello, Forest Oaks as well as in Towns like Baker and Zachary.  These are generally homes under $125,000 to $135,000.

The blog pic of this week is located in Stonegate Subdivision 70815 off Old Hammond Hwy and in between Sharp Road and Sherwood Forest Blvd.  This subdivision has some pretty major issues now with what appeared to be a non-functioning HOA (home owners association) with private concrete streets falling apart.  YES, there is flooding taking place in there, at least inside this foreclosure I appraised.
