As Greater Baton Rouge’s Home Appraiser, I read a number of sources daily to keep up with the local and national housing markets.  I came across this article below, which explains the differences between a Real Estate Agent CMA or BPO (Broker Price Opinion) and a Certified Home Appraisal and wanted to share this information with the local market.  I also included the videos as well for further clarification.   The article isn’t based on CMA versus Appraisal argument, but rather points out the strengths and potential weaknesses of the two methods of estimating a home’s value.
